tues night, after a long weekend including the 3 day finale to the sound infusion cocert series and then 2 days in new jersey doing grunt work, i came home and noticed my bike was not in my kitchen. then i remembered, the previous week i'd locked it up outside my financial institution and must have then walked home w/o the bike. it had been a solid week. it must be gone. i walked over there, and my bike is still there-- the helmet still inside the basket. my bike sat completely untouched for a solid week on 5th av in brooklyn. i suppose it's possible someone peed on it, but it doesn't smell funny... i think i'm in the clear.

incidentally-- the sound infusion series finale was completely killer. lots of great sets of music. i really went all out, planned extravagantly, and i pulled it all off. it would have been better if the place was packed beyond capacity every night, but i am still quite pleased with what happened. my man johnny even called sunday night to tell me that matt maneri had already heard about it from someone else. word's getting around. just in time for me to leave. this is always the way these things go, of course.

hey! i booked my tickets to san diego. aug 27, i'm outta here.

I did something similar once when I was still in college at UIUC. I lived about a 5 minute walk from where I practiced but one night it was raining so I drove over there. When I was done practicing it wasn't raining anymore and, not thinking, I walked home only to discover about 5 parking tickets the next morning when I arrived for class, still not aware that I had left my car at a metered space all night. I'm a genius.

We are totally gonna have to rock it in cali. You should make friends with composer rick and romanian pianist kate, they're good people.

I haven't talked to kelly in forever. How would I get in touch with her?
